The Mosquito Magnet mimics a large mammal by emitting a plume of:

• carbon dioxide
• heat
• moisture

This is combined with an attractant called octenol. Octenol is a naturally occuring pheromone that comes from plants. Octenol has been shown to increase mosquito catch rates three to four times. This combination is irresistible to:

• mosquitoes
• no-see-ums
• biting midges
• black flies
• sandflies

Once the Mosquito Magnet attracts the bugs it vacuums the insects into a net where they dehydrate and die. The Mosquito Magnet operates 24 hours a day in order to capture day-biting, as well as night-biting, blood-seeking insects.
